Dating back to the 1800s, the mill in Glen Arbor provided freshly milled flour to Leelanau farmers and residents - it was a hub for commerce and community for nearly a century. The building has lived many lives since then, most notably as a recording studio, and sat vacant for over thirty years before our team started dreaming of reviving this iconic property.

Many who have driven past over the years wondered what it could become. In 2018, our founder decided to take it on. He gathered a group who shared the vision for warm hospitality, thoughtful design, and nourishing fare that highlights the region’s bounty.

About

Newly imagined and painstakingly restored - The Mill Glen Arbor softly launched the cafe in spring 2023 and has since become the gathering spot it once was. Offering in-house breads and pastries, along with a thoughtful made-to-order menu, the cafe hits the spot any time of day. Our small inn opened shortly after — a well-appointed guesthouse with 3 rooms, providing just the respite you need - for the night or for a week. Housed on the lowest level alongside the sacred Crystal River sits our 30 seat restaurant, Supper which features New American cuisine that is uplifted by the bounty of local food farmed here in Northern Michigan. On the upper two floors of The Mill, our fee-based membership lounge offers the local community an escape from daily routines and a special space to bring family and friends.
